Terms of Service

1. Acceptance
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the GetMyNews mobile application and the getmynews.online website (together, the “Service”), published by Smartness Home (see our Legal Notice). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. What the Service does
GetMyNews aggregates publicly available RSS feeds from news publishers around the world and presents each story as a card you can swipe. A local, on-device system learns from your swipes to personalize your feed. GetMyNews is a reader and aggregator: it links to the original articles and does not host or claim ownership of publishers’ content.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service.
4. No account
The Service does not require you to create an account or provide personal identifiers. Your preferences are stored on your device, as described in our Privacy Policy.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the Service, including by attempting to disrupt it, reverse-engineer it beyond what the law allows, scrape it at scale, or use it to infringe the rights of publishers or other users.
6. Third-party content and links
Headlines, article text and images belong to their respective publishers and are subject to those publishers’ own terms. When you open an article, you leave GetMyNews for a third-party website that we do not control. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, content, paywalls or practices of those third-party sites, and the availability of any given source may change or stop without notice. If you are a rights holder, our copyright notice-and-takedown process is described in our Legal Notice.
7. Ads
The Service is free and supported by occasional advertising (one ad roughly every 20 stories). There is no subscription and no in-app purchase — nothing is locked behind a paywall. Ads are served by Google AdMob; you can choose whether they are personalized (see the Privacy Policy). For apps obtained through the App Store, Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies, and Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms with the right to enforce them.
8. Intellectual property
The GetMyNews name, logo, software and design are owned by Smartness Home. Subject to these Terms, you are granted a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for your own, non-commercial use.
9. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is”and “as available”, without warranties of any kind to the extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any particular source or article will be available.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Smartness Home shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, and your mandatory consumer-protection rights are unaffected.
11. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time by deleting the App. We may suspend or discontinue the Service, in whole or in part, at any time.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by French law, without prejudice to the mandatory consumer-protection provisions of the country in which you reside. Any additional terms of the Apple App Store or Google Play also apply to your download and use of the App.
13. Changes and contact
We may update these Terms; the “last updated” date above reflects the current version. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms. Questions: contact@getmynews.online.
